Connect Cisco Meraki to WeefyBox
Meraki click-through authorization is browser-based, so no controller credentials are required for the basic connection.
- Open WeefyBox Setup, choose Cisco Meraki, and copy the Portal URL.
- In Dashboard, select the correct network.
- Open Wireless > Configure > Access control.
- Select the guest SSID.
- Set Association requirements to Open or your preferred guest option.
- Set Splash page to Click-through.
- Choose Custom splash URL and paste the WeefyBox Portal URL.
- Keep Captive portal strength set to block access until sign-on.
- Add the WeefyBox domains to the walled-garden/allow-list.
- Set the splash frequency and session duration.
- Optionally enter a Dashboard API key and Network ID in WeefyBox for connection diagnostics.
- Save changes and wait for Meraki configuration to update.
- Forget and rejoin the SSID on a phone.
- Complete the portal and confirm the browser returns to the requested page.
- Confirm the redirect and authorization result in Portal debugger.
| Symptom | Check |
|---|---|
| Splash never appears | Correct SSID, custom splash URL, captive portal strength |
| Splash works but no internet | base_grant_url is preserved; no firewall is blocking network-auth.com |
| iPhone works but Android fails | Add Android connectivity-check domains |
| Returning guests sign up again | Increase splash frequency and keep private MAC stable |
| API test fails | API access enabled, API key valid, Network ID begins with N_ |
